Two flew to John Hunter after motorbike collision with kangaroo in Broke | Newcastle Herald

TWO people have been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital following reports their motorbike collided with a kangaroo in Broke. Just after midday on Saturday, the Westpac rescue helicopter was tasked by Ambulance New South Wales to report a serious motorcycle accident on Wollombi Road. Local paramedics and emergency services attended the scene and began treating the biker, a man in his late 40s and a passenger in her early 50s. It was reported that the motorbike collided with a kangaroo, which caused serious arm injuries to both occupants of the vehicle. Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Intensive Care assisted in the treatment of the man before he was taken straight to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. Due to the nature of the passenger’s injuries, a second ambulance helicopter and an intensive care medical team were dispatched to the scene. The woman was treated and stabilized before also being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. The man and woman remain in serious condition at John Hunter as of 4pm on Saturday January 15.
