Two Barcelona players who could leave on loan this summer – report

With Barcelona having big ambitions in the summer transfer window, there will be losses in the current squad.

The Catalan giants are planning a major splurge, targeting a marquee forward, new right-back, left-back, centre-back and winger. At the same time, a new midfielder should also arrive at the club, with a deal for Franck Kessie already linked.

Given the overhaul that Xavi Hernandez is planning, there will naturally be some players who need to be left out of the roster for good. Marginal players like Samuel Umtiti, Martin Braithwaite fall into this category.

At the same time, there are a few players who are likely to be sent out on loan to help improve their playing situation before possibly reintegrating them into the squad.

Now, Files released a report claiming that Barcelona plan to send two players on loan for next season to help their development.

Riqui Puig

First on the list, according to the report, is the midfield wonderkid Riqui Puig, who did not thrive at first-team level as expected. One of the earliest talents to come through La Masiathe 22-year-old has struggled for playing time since his senior debut under Ernesto Valverde.

He was completely out of favor under Ronald Koeman, and the situation didn’t improve much under Xavi. So a loan exit makes sense for the Spaniard, with Premier League side Wolves showing an interest in securing his services for next season.

Ez Abde

The second player who can be allowed to leave on loan is a young winger Ez Abde. The striker only joined the club last year and was part of Barca’s B team. However, an injury crisis in the first-team setup earned him a lane in the team, and he took advantage of it, making a distinct impression under Xavi.

However, after the January acquisitions of Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Abde returned to the B team, having failed to get much playing time with the senior side.

Xavi has praised him in the past and seems to value the 20-year-old highly. But with Barcelona likely to bring in at least one more attacking player this summer, a loan away from Camp Nou would help build the youngster for the future.
