A boy is ‘over the moon’ after winning two national motocross competitions before competing internationally representing the UK.
Marty Spires, 11, from South Oxhey, won the ACU British Motocross Championship held on September 10-11.
He then emulated that result with another win at the Bridgestone British Masters on September 17-18.
Marty said: “It was very good.
“I’m thrilled that all my hard work has paid off.”
Marty’s hard work is to do an extra hour of school every day for four days so he can train with his academy one day a week.
He also sees a personal trainer twice a week.
He said: “I eat healthy and train a lot to get in shape.
“I do push-ups, cardio and jump rope.”
The whole family, including Marty’s mother, father, and sister, travel with Marty when he competes.
Soon the family will travel to Belgium for an international tournament on October 1 and 2.
