FORT KNOX, Ky. – The Fort Knox Facility Safety Office has set dates for the remaining 2022 motorcycle certification classes and checkup rides.

The ISO conducts training courses for soldiers and civilians ranging from beginners to experienced riders so that they obtain and renew the certifications required to operate a motorcycle on the job. The dates for each are as follows:

  • Basic courses for riders: June 27-28, July 11-12, August 1-2, August 8-9 and August 15-16
  • Advanced Riders Course: June 23, July 15, August 12
  • Intermediate Driver Training: June 23, July 1, July 8, August 24
  • Corrective driver training: June 29, August 23

The Basic Motorcycle Safety Course is a two-day course that includes five hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of physical riding on the certified course.

Rider certification must be renewed every five years to stay current. All course registrations are available online through the EAMS portal, where riders can select their location by facility.

Additionally, passengers are encouraged to participate in facility security checks scheduled several times a year. The next checkpoint is scheduled for July 22, where riders will head to Rough River Dam. The final round of control is expected to take place on September 9.

The motorcycle course is also available on weekends for units wishing to carry out their own training. Contact ISO at (502) 624-3381 to request more information.
