Manistee County author shares tips for turbulent times in new book

MANISTEE – Sport fishing guide and Onekama author, Dennis Blue tells his compelling story as a business executive turned fishing captain pursuing God in his latest book “Need Direction? Ask God.”

Along the way, Blue recounts the tragic loss of his wife’s parents in a plane crash, flying as a missionary pilot, establishing Ford Motor Company operations around the world, and five biblical principles that have guided his life.

“Whether you’re a person of faith or looking for answers, there are times when you need guidance,” Blue said in a press release.

Using real-life experiences interspersed with Bible principles, Blue shows how you can rise above turbulence and experience the comfort of knowing God is in control.

“God already has the answers, ‘Need direction? Ask God’ will help you find them,” the statement read.

After graduating from Michigan State University, Dennis joined the Ford Motor Company. 30 years of service followed, 14 of them abroad. After retiring from Ford in 1988, Blue immediately launched True Blue Sportfishing, guiding customers around the world.

He and his wife Dorothy Blue now live in Michigan. He is the author of two memoirs about his life, “Running the Good Race” and the award-winning film “Through the Eyes of a Fisherman”.
