The offseason allows Jason Weigandt to find the great stories you haven’t heard, including Becca Sheets’ rise to the top of the WXC division of the Grand National Cross Country Series. Raised as a motocross rider, Sheets’ eventual move to the woods resulted in three titles, including a fierce 2021 battle with compatriot Yamaha Rachel Archer. The sheets held up well despite brutal conditions in the Yamaha Ironman GNCC Final. Her bike even drowned during the race, but she wrung out the air filter, made it work and earned enough points to defend her crown. Now she will step away from the stress of racing, announcing that this season will be her last. His motocross history at ISDE and GNCC is good.
Weigandt also chats with Hunter Hart, a promising GNCC ATV rider, who finished second in this year’s standings behind GNCC National Champion Walker Fowler. Hart explains how ATV riders find their own sponsors and offers to make a living as riders. He even got an Outback Steakhouse discount card!
