The long-awaited new Force Gurkha 2021 model will be launched in the Indian market today. The Lifestyle SUV, which was unveiled on September 15, will be open for bookings from today. Force Motors has already announced that deliveries of the new Gurkha will begin from October 15, 2021.
Expected prices of the new Gurkha Force
The new Gurkha Lifestyle SUV will be pitted against the best-selling and popular Mahindra Thar SUV, which currently has a standby period of over 12 months. Force Motors will aim to significantly reduce the new Thar to take a share in the lifestyle SUV segment. We expect the price of the new Gurkha to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 13 lakh.
The new Force Gurkha is powered by a BSVI-compliant version of the 2.6-liter turbo-diesel engine. Combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox, this turbo-diesel engine produces 91 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. It was offered with the standard 4WD (four wheel drive) system with manual locking differentials front and rear. It also receives front and rear anti-roll bars and an air intake snorkel.
For reference, the Thar lifestyle SUV is powered by a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine that produces 130 hp of power and 300 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Dimensions and color options
– It measures 4,116mm in length, 1,812mm in width and 2,075mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Compared to the previous model, the new Gurkha is 124mm longer, 22mm wider and 20mm taller.
– The new Gurkha comes in 5 exterior color options – green, orange, red, white and gray.
New Features of Force Gurkha
The new Gurkha is offered in a dark gray interior and is available as a 3-door model. This is a 4-seater lifestyle SUV with a pair of captain’s seats for the second row. The new model comes with modern features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a semi-digital instrument console, manual climate control, a title and telescopic steering, armrests, etc. The SUV has two front airbags. , ABS with EBD, reversing radars, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), speed alert, one-touch lane change indicator, etc.
Based on the updated ladder frame, the new Gurkha meets new crash test and pedestrian safety standards. The SUV receives LED headlights with daytime running lights, new fog lights, black roof rails with a functional luggage rack, 16-inch steel wheels and an LED brake light.
