On Friday, Latto dropped his highly anticipated track “Wheelie,” featuring 21 Savage, along with a music video full of motorcycles.
After teasing the star artist of the track with several clues in February, Latto unveiled the official cover art for “Wheelie” on Instagram on Wednesday, confirming that 21 Savage is featuring a few guest verses on the single just two days before its release.
The video, directed by Colin Tilley, sees Latto performing a wheelie on a freeway and dancing among a crowd of colorful vintage cars in a parking lot. “Pop it like a wheelie / Hop on top and I go silly,” she raps on the chorus before 21 Savage takes the mic in the foreground of a motorcycle stuntman flying through the sky.
“Call my jeweler like, ‘I wanna go blind,'” he raps on his verse. “Thirty watches, I’m never on time.”
The track comes just over 18 months after the release of his major label debut album. Queen of Da Soufwho helped push the Atlanta rapper into the spotlight alongside her placement on the 2020 XXL List of first year classes. Latto has since released his highest charting single, “Big Energy”, which secured first place on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart in January and broke into the Hot 100 top 20 just days ago.
“Wheelie” is the second single to be released from Latto’s upcoming album, following “Big Energy”. Watch the rapper’s clip with 21 Savage above.
