Jaguar’s updated F-Pace made its debut in South Africa, benefiting from several upgrades. The updates aren’t just about the exterior, but extend to the cabin and drivetrain. Jaguar also took the time to iron out the wrinkles in the exterior design, while reworking the hood and its power bulge.

Slim all-LED quad headlamps with “Double J” daytime running light signatures are standard, but Pixel LED technology is available as an option. According to Jaguar, the latter option offers increased resolution and brightness. The light pattern continues around the SUV.

The new Jaguar F-Pace range is also available with the additional black exterior package which sees certain elements of the vehicle finished in gloss black.

Transmission options

The new F-Pace range is powered by two diesel engines and three gasoline engines. All powertrains are turbocharged and feature all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission.

The two diesel options consist of the D200 and D300 models. The D200 has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 kW and 430 Nm, while the D300’s 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine is good for 221 kW and 700 Nm.

A 2.0-liter P250 Ingenium four-cylinder engine (184 kW / 365 Nm) serves as the entry point to the gasoline range, while a new 3.0-liter P400 inline-six boasts outputs of 294 kW and 550 Nm thanks to its light hybrid. (MHEV).

A new 2.0-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model produces a combined output of 297 kW and 640 Nm from its gasoline engine and 105 kW electric motor. The advanced electric motor is powered by a 17.1 kWh lithium-ion battery and contributes to CO2 emissions of 49 g / km and fuel economy of 2.2 liters / 100 km, and a time of 0 to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds. When fully charged, the new PHEV is capable of driving up to 53 km fully electric. Jaguar claims that the fast charge (32kW DC) can deliver a 0-80% charge in 30 minutes, while a 7kW home wallbox can deliver a 0-80% charge in less than an hour 40 minutes.
