Global Automotive Cockpits and Instrumentation Industry 2022 – Featuring Fujitsu Ten, Recticel and Ford Motor among others – ResearchAndMarkets.com

DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Automotive Cockpits and Instrumentation – Global Sector Overview and Forecast (Q1 2022 Update) report has been added to from ResearchAndMarkets.com offer.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the global OE Cockpits and Instrumentation industry, key vendors, top 14 markets, technology trends and market size forecasts.

The dashboard (or dashboard) and the instrument cluster together form the dashboard. The dashboard is a complex system of coatings, foams, plastics and metals designed to house various components and act as a safety device for vehicle occupants. Dashboards are usually made of injection molded thermoplastic. The area directly in front of the driver and front passenger is commonly referred to as the cockpit. This is an area that continues to expand.

A cockpit is a combination consisting of an instrument panel and a number of sub-modules such as wiring and electronics, instruments, car audio and information/communication systems, heating and air conditioning.

The number of instruments has increased over the years as vehicles have become more complex and the instruments themselves have become less expensive. Few cars in the 1960s had a tachometer, but now it’s almost universal equipment. Similarly, legislation has now made the use of tachographs in trucks compulsory.

The big increase, however, was in event-controlled indications, such as lights activating to display warnings for gauges, low oil pressure and high beam illumination. A typical car would now have two large gauges showing speed and engine revolutions along with two smaller gauges showing engine temperature and fuel gauge. All other instruments are either integrated into the larger instruments (odometer and trip meter) or separated from the main cluster and displayed as event warnings.

While there’s no doubt that drivers of the future will be better informed thanks to a host of new instruments, one wonders if their dashboards will be a safe place to deliver the information.
