TUSCUMBIE, Missouri (KMIZ)
Investigators say in court documents that last week’s deadly shooting at Lake of the Ozarks began with a showdown involving three motorcycle clubs.
Miller County District Attorney Ben Winfrey on Friday charged Daniel S. Kurtzeborn of Iberia with one count of illegal possession of firearms in connection with the fatal shooting last week outside the Casablanca Pub and Grill on the Bagnell Dam strip. Bond was set at $ 25,000.
A probable cause statement indicates that Kurtzeborn can be seen exchanging gunshots with other people during the shooting on surveillance video. Winfrey last week charged Tonka Way-Con Ponder of Preston, Missouri, with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in the shooting that killed one and injured four others.
Authorities did not identify the deceased man, referring to him in court documents only as BC
The statement filed in the Kurtzeborn case says members of the Galloping Gooses and Midwest Drifters motorcycle clubs could be seen on video outside the restaurant on the night of the shooting. Six members of the Mongols Motorcycle Club then left the restaurant and a fight ensued, investigators said.
The video shows members of the Galloping Gooses and Mongols exchanging gunshots, the statement said, causing others to exchange gunfire. The statement says Kurtzeborn cannot own a gun due to his criminal history.
No attorneys have been listed for Kurtzeborn in online court records. It was not clear if he was in custody on Monday.
