Danilo Petrucci not yet closed to MotoAmerica with Ducati

After a difficult year for Danilo Petrucci in MotoGP, the Italian has confirmed his presence in Dakar 2022 with KTM, thus realizing a dream. Even before that happened, a rumor emerged that the # 9 could head to MotoAmerica to ride the bike left by Loris Baz in the colors of the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York team.

Asked by GPOne about the future, Petrucci confirmed the possibility of changing continents and staying connected to the circuits.

“As you wrote some time ago, MotoAmerica’s proposition is true and I am delighted to try my hand at this new adventure with Ducati. At the moment, I still do not know what will be the program to follow, other than moving to America in Philadelphia. I would say this offer comes at the right time after a particular 2021. In fact, I needed a change, as well as a new experience in the United States to reward me for what I did in my motorcycle career., he said.

The rider therefore confirmed that he had the so-called “American dream”: “Exactly, let’s say yes! In the end, track racing has always been my field of competition and Ducati is also involved in this pioneering project. It will be something really new and I’m curious.

It’s important to note that Petrucci has yet to close his plans after his Dakar appearance. The rider has already made it clear that he would like to return to the event with better preparation in 2023, but it could be difficult if he chooses to ride MotoAmerica with a brand other than KTM.
