Bedford man dies in Johnson County motorcycle accident | Local News

A 40-year-old Bedford man died Sunday after a motorcycle accident on Farm-to-Market Road 2331.

At approximately 6:53 p.m., soldiers from the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the wreckage, which was part of a motorcycle group.

Thomas Webb and his passenger, Stephanie Webb, 39, were on a black 2020 Harley-Davison motorcycle when they were separated from the main group traveling north on FM 2331, reports say.

As Webb hurried to catch up with the group, 23-year-old Nevin Elmore of Thackerville, Oklahoma, who was also riding a black 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, slowed down to allow the other motorcycle to join the group. For some unknown reason, the motorcycle that overtook the group failed to control its speed and slammed into the back of the other motorcycle which had slowed down.

The Webbs, who weren’t wearing helmets, were ejected. Thomas Webb landed on the causeway with the passenger landing in the east bar ditch. The driver of the second motorcycle, who was also not wearing a helmet, was also thrown into the east bar ditch.

The Webbs were taken by ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne. Thomas Webb was later pronounced dead by hospital staff. Stephanie Webb suffered non-catastrophic injuries.

Elmore was transported by ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth with non-incapacitating injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and no further information is available.
